As expected the draw for the second world ranking event of the 2017-18 season has produced some mouth-watering matches. What is more, Belfast Indoor Bowling Club provides a fantastic setting for the SMPT’s Show Mat, enabling players and spectators alike to witness games of special interest, featuring some of the sport’s top names in action at this year’s Irish Open.

Alan Paul has won the 2016 Irish Open after an 11-5 victory over Gerry McCabe. Pauline Beattie claims Bronze with a win over Aidan Corrigan.
Jackie Erskine takes the Plate title after an 8-6 victory over Nathan Haire. Dan Winmill wins the Shield with a 12-8 win against Jordan Rankin.

We’re off to Belfast this weekend where a record 174 competitors will battle it out in the 2nd world ranking event of the season. 2016 Irish Open: closing date for entries confirmed as 28th August 2016
Entries to the forthcoming Irish Open, held at Belfast Indoor Bowls Club on 17th-18th September 2016, will close on Sunday 28th August at 6pm (BST).
