Short Mat Players Tour Ltd (SMPT) – Terms & Conditions Of Entry: Ranking Events
- Players who have specific access requirements at this event must contact the SMPT before
entering. The SMPT will then confirm that those requirements can be accommodated. - Entry into this tournament is only granted to the person whose name appears on the entry
form under ‘Player’s Name’ and is not transferable to another person. - A player’s entry is only confirmed when a completed entry form accompanied by full payment
(as cleared funds) has been received by The Short Mat Players Tour Ltd (SMPT). - A player may cancel their entry at any time. The SMPT will only refund the entry fee paid (less
£1.50 to cover admin charges incurred by SMPT), providing all of the following three criteria
are met:
a. Written notice of the cancellation is emailed to info@shortmatplayerstour.com or
posted to Short Mat Players Tour Ltd, 1 Mill Hill Farm Cottages, Chalk Street,
Rettendon Common, Chelmsford, Essex, CM3 8DE.
b. The written notice of cancellation is received by SMPT no later than 28 days prior to
the start of the tournament.
c. The event is full, as per the advertised capacity on the relevant tournament page on
the SMPT website, when the draw is done. - Any player wishing to cancel less than 28 days prior to the start of the tournament will not be
eligible for a refund of their entry fee. - All entrants who will be under the age of 18 years old at the start of the tournament must
confirm their date of birth on their entry form. Under 18s must be accompanied by a
responsible adult at all times.
a. The full entry fee of £40 must be paid by (or on behalf of) all entrants under 18 years
old at the time of entering, as above.
b. Under 18s will receive a partial refund of £20 (or 50% of the full entry fee paid). This
partial refund will be given to the Under 18 in the form of a SMPT voucher when the
Under 18 registers on the first day of the event. The SMPT voucher can be used as
part payment for entry into subsequent SMPT events. - Players are expected to comply with the event rules of play:

www.shortmatplayerstour.com/code-of-conduct/ A breach of the terms and conditions of
entry, the event rules of play or the code of conduct, may result in a points deduction,
disqualification from the event, forfeiture of ranking points, forfeiture of prizes (including prize
money) or another penalty, as deemed appropriate by the SMPT. - All players in SMPT singles events are responsible for marking up to 3 group games and a
further 2 knockout games. Players unable to mark are required to find substitute markers to
take on their marking duties. All players will be advised by SMPT throughout the event of the
times and locations that they are required to mark. Any player who either fails to fulfil their
marking duties, or fails to find a substitute marker to fulfil those duties, will relinquish their
entitlement to all prize money and ranking points won in that event. Refusal to perform
marking duties may also jeopardise that player’s entry into future SMPT events. - All players in SMPT singles events will be drawn into groups of 5 or 6 players, however SMPT
cannot be held responsible for any player withdrawals after the draw has been made.
Therefore SMPT cannot guarantee that a set number of group games will be played, because
the number of games in any group might be reduced due to late withdrawals (if replacements
are not found) or other circumstances including lateness, illness and other absences. - All timings for the event are approximate. Whilst every care is taken to ensure the event runs
on schedule, there may be delays due to slow play or other circumstances. Any player who
needs to leave the event prior to its conclusion must withdraw from the competition before
the start of the quarter final stage of the knockout competition in which they qualified. - Prize money stated for the tournament is strictly subject to entries. It may be paid out either in
pounds sterling, the equivalent amount of local currency or in the form of vouchers. The
SMPT reserve the right to increase or decrease this amount without notice. All players will be
informed of any change at the earliest possible opportunity.
a. Vouchers will expire 2 years after the date they are issued. - Videographers and photographers may be present at the event. This includes the filming
and/or photography of the event by the SMPT or authorised third parties.
a. By entering an event and/or attending the venue you give your express consent to all
such filming and to your actual or simulated likeness being included within any: film,
photograph, audio and/or audio-visual recording (“Footage”). All rights in such
Footage which will be owned by the Short Mat Players Tour or the relevant authorised
third party.
b. You also agree that any such Footage may be used by the Short Mat Players Tour in
any and all media for any purpose at any time throughout the world, including for
commercial purposes, such as merchandising or DVDs, without payment or
compensation to you. - Entry into a SMPT event is a privilege and not a right. As such, SMPT reserves the right to
refuse any player’s entry. If an entry is refused, SMPT will notify the player at the earliest
opportunity (usually within 7 days from receipt of the entry) and a full refund of the entry fee
will then be processed. - The SMPT reserves the right to cancel an event at any time prior to the scheduled dates of
said event. All players will be informed at the earliest opportunity and will receive a full refund
of their entry fee. - Should a cancellation occur during an event, and costs have been incurred by the SMPT, a
decision will be made by the directorship as to the merits of a proportionate refund of player
entry fees, taking into account all factors and considerations. - The SMPT reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior
