Entries to the first Short Mat Players Tour event of the 2016-17 season will open on 1 March 2016. Thereafter, the first day of every month, from April until September, will see the opening of entries to at least one more competition.

The Short Mat Payers Tour are looking for a number of umpires to work with us at our events across Europe.

You may remember that last year we announced the launch of a new prize to be contested on the Tour this season.

We recently announced that next season’s highest ranked ‘Under 18’ will be crowned the first ever SMPT Young Player of the Year. We are now pleased to confirm that the Young Player of the Year will win the Ryan O’Neill Trophy.

As part of our end of season review, after assessing players’ feedback and following some new ideas from within the team, we are pleased to announce the following changes for 2015-16.

The Short Mat Players Tour is pleased to announce two new events that will take place in the spring of next year and will form the first SMPT Charity Weekend! Working with Park Community Ventures and Portsdown Short Mat Bowls Club we will be staging two separate events in aid of two different charities.
